I was an unhappy workaholic trying to recover from mental fatigue and lack of clarity. I really wanted to figure out why I was so low in mental energy and sickly physically, so I wouldn’t have to go through life feeling unhappy, unfulfilled and ineffective.
I really wanted to be able to feel better so I could get my energy, drive and focus back in order to pursue my dreams again and achieve more in life like I used to. I also wanted to be a better father and be more present for my family.
The External Struggle
I just could not seem to make headway in terms of understanding what was happening to me and getting the right help to get me out of that black hole in my life.
In that same period, I went through a terrible illness that left my right leg numb and paralysed and nearly crippled me. Which meant I had to stay away from work for months due to severe pain and spend a lot of money on medical care. The whole episode left me sleepless for months with deteriorating health and mental well-being.
The Internal Struggle
But, I was not understanding what was happening to me on a mental and physical level. That meant I wasn’t able to get my energy, drive and focus back and focus on anything, let alone feel better and achieve more in life.
To make things worse, I felt terrible because I was not giving my best to my family. I felt even worse about the situation because I was isolating myself and feeling very helpless. I felt like a failure in my business and as a parent.
Despite seeking help from so many doctors and professionals and spending a lot of money trying to figure out what was wrong with me, no solution was in sight.
Then, as if by chance, something amazing happened…
That’s when I decided to figure out what was happening to me on my own and to treat and rehabilitate myself since I am a medical doctor. That is when I discovered thatwhat had caused all my problems, including my physical illness, was long-standing but undiagnosed depression!
It was now crystal clear to me how it had drained me of my mental energy and driven me to physical illness by affecting my immune system. I needed to make changes in my life in order to be more in control of my mental and physical well-being, because I now saw that I could find lasting solutions to what had bothered me for so long.
I learned that in order to overcome and master depression you must first understand yourself as a person and deal with your whole being and not just single quick-fixes that do not last. Antidepressants and therapy alone are not enough. You need toutilise multiple strategies to deal with depression and not be dependent on medication forever.
As a result of implementing what I had learnt, I felt much better mentally and regained my physical health. In a matter of months, the paralysis disappeared and I learnt to walk again. I felt much clearer mentally and over the years I was able to start working on the things that really mattered to me again.
That’s when I realized that the secret to recovering from mental fatigue and lack of clarity was understand what had triggered and contributed my depression and how I could prevent it from happening again.
My plan was to start helping people I interacted with or who came to me for help to understand and deal with their depression or anxiety problems.
So I started to advise people based on my experience. But I didn’t stop there.
There was still a problem…
I needed to be sure that my advice was solid and could be depended on. I needed to confirm the things that had worked for me and also come up with other strategies to help others. I needed solid proof that these strategies really worked!
So I scoured the scientific literature around depression. I reviewed over 2,500 of the latest scientific research articles on depression to dig down to what were the best proven strategies to overcome depression.
With this information in hand, I felt unstoppable. There is so much you can do to be depression-free that is actually scientifically proven. Most of it is stuff you could easily implement in your life too. The best part is that you do not have to do everything, you can choose amongst the dozens of strategies what works best for you.
So that was a big relief to be able to offer other people I was helping this information so they could also benefit and be empowered to be depression-free.
But it still felt like a drop in the ocean because there were so many people who were going through similar things and many did not even know they were depressed. Many did not want to talk about it. Every so often you heard stories about someone you knew taking their own life due to depression. I decided to make what I had learnt and the techniques that had helped me and others available to many more people who needed it by making this information available online.
And so here we are – you can also benefit from this learning and let go of feeling helpless and hopeless in the face of depression. You too can be depression-free and happy, and that makes me absolutely excited for you!
I finally managed to put all this wealth of material together andto make it available to you too.
I chose to call it“The Ultimate Depression Survival Kit!” I thought if I could create something that would make it possible to help anyone, anywhere, going through depression to overcome it for good, I’d be really happy.
So I took yearsof practical experience, insight and learning as well as the best scientific research findings and turned it into something anyone could understand and use effectively, in The Ultimate Depression Survival Kit!
I can now show anyone how to free themselves from depression and have more mental energy and focus as well as be happier and more fulfilled.
This programme has helped many people to understand themselves better and what they were going through and how they could get well and improve their lives, for themselves and for their loved ones. It has helped them to be less dependent on medication or not need medication at all.
In the process of creating The Ultimate Depression Survival Kit, I was able to help not just myself but other people too to stop feeling depressed, anxious and powerless. Now we can all channel our energy to truly working on living the kind of lives we want and being there to enjoy time with our loved ones.
And in the end, all of this means we can now confidently go through life knowing we never have to be at the mercy of depression again…
